The state’s liquor licensing authority is joining with Adelaide CBD bottle shops, South Australia Police and the City of Adelaide to help address anti-social behaviour associated with takeaway liquor in the CBD.
The new Liquor Accord is a new partnership between licensees and authorities - the first of its kind under provisions introduced in 2019, highlighting the commitment of all involved to ensuring the CBD is a safe and vibrant place to work, live or visit.
Under the Accord, licensees have agreed not to stock four or five litre casks of wine, along with any casks of fortified wine. Sales of two litre wine casks will be restricted to one cask per person per day.
Signatories to the Accord will meet regularly to consider the impact of measures to date, their effectiveness and whether any further action should also be taken.
