A Port Lincoln security guard has lost his security and investigation agent licence after repeated breaches of his licence conditions.
Kevin Pearce, who has traded under the business name “Eyre Peninsula Security”, had his licence cancelled following an investigation by industry regulator Consumer and Business Services.
Under the conditions of his licence, Mr Pearce was only able to undertake security and investigation work solely as an employee of another business – and not as part of his own independent business.
Following complaints from consumers, CBS first wrote to Mr Pearce, reminding him of the conditions of his licence, ultimately suspending it after he continued to run his own security business, despite the warning.
Further investigations by CBS revealed Mr Pearce continued trading despite these sanctions.
